Move-In and Orientation
Move-in day is a very busy and exciting day! If you are a residential student, your first priority is to move into your room and meet your roommate. For a full listing of recommended items to bring to Summer College, please visit the Residence Life Information page under ‘Admitted Students.’ If you are a commuter student, you should still plan to check-in at the residence hall in order to receive your class schedule, SU identification card, and other important information. Please review the Orientation schedule for your particular program’s move-in date for information on when to arrive to campus. The first required event for all students is the Orientation session beginning at 3PM on Saturday.
Students will be emailed a map of campus, directions to the residence hall, any road closures and a move-in pass (residential students only) approximately 2-3 weeks prior to your move-in date. Please review the Orientation schedule for your particular program’s move-in date for information on when to arrive to campus. Students can schedule a free shuttle when arriving to and departing from campus on the Required forms page. The shuttle picks up and drops off at Syracuse Hancock International Airport and Syracuse Regional Transportation Center (site for the local bus and train stations) at set times. Confirmation will be emailed to the student prior to their arrival. For those departing from campus, students should book departure travel no earlier than 4PM on the Friday of their program’s conclusion. Shuttles leave campus at pre-arranged times on Fridays beginning at 4PM. Please plan your departures accordingly if a shuttle is needed. Taxi service is available for students arriving and departing outside of the designated shuttle hours.
