Note, there are also additional required actions to complete based on specific cohorts. These items must be completed in entirety. Tasks for ALL Incoming Summer College Students
These tasks are required by all Summer College students regardless of if they are considered a residential, commuter, or international student.
Due One Week After Admittance: Pay Your Deposit
The deposit is due one week after the acceptance letter has been received in order secure a spot in the program. Please refer to your acceptance letter for your specific deposit deadline. A reminder will be sent via email or phone prior to the payment deadline. Refer to Payment Information for deposit requirements.
If you are a sponsored student, we will need an email confirmation letting us know your intent to attend Summer College in lieu of a deposit.
Request Additional Services
If you are in need of special accommodations this summer, please complete the Office of Disability Services Registration Form. Be sure to indicate that you are a Summer College student. You will be contacted by the Office of Disability Services(ODS) via email.
Do you have a food allergy? For questions regarding special dietary needs such as food allergies, vegetarian and vegan issues or general nutrition questions pertaining to your meal plan, please don’t hesitate to call Ruth Sullivan, MSEd, RDN, CDN, at 315.443.9884 or by email at to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due May 15: Fill Out the “Consent and Permissions” and the “Policies and Procedures” Forms
These two forms must be completed by May 15, 2019. Click EACH link below to complete electronically.
For students admitted after May 15, please submit within five business days following your deposit/confirmation. Please note that the online forms require both students and parents/guardians to sign the online documents. Utilizing the computer mouse as if it were a writing instrument, sign your name. Please do not type your name into the signature box. If your computer or device does not allow you to use a mouse to sign your name, please feel free to print the forms and sign with a pen and send in via email email@example.com, fax 315.443.4410 or mail to the Summer College Office: 700 University Ave, Syracuse NY 13210. If you have any problem accessing or signing the forms, please contact our office at 315.443.5000 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Due May 15: Submit Your Photo For Your SUID
Must be completed by May 15, 2019.
The photo must fulfill the following requirements:
1. A high quality, clear, color photo with a plain background.
2. A front view of your whole face with no other people or animals in the photo.
3. Taken within the past 3 months.
4. Taken without a hat or dark glasses.
5. The photo must be in .jpg format and no more than 2 MB in size.
6. Email the photo (with student’s name and SUID in the email subject line) to email@example.com by May 15, 2019. For students admitted after May 15, please submit within five business days following your deposit/confirmation.
Due by the time you arrive: Activate Your NetID
Wait at least one week after you have made your deposit (or confirmed your acceptance) to activate your NetID. Your NetID allows you to log into the computers on campus as well as access your Syracuse University email address. For help activating your NetID, visit the Information Technology Services site.
Due May 15: Complete the Health Form for SU Health Services
Complete after you activate your NetID. The Health Form must be completed by May 15, 2019 and submitted via email, phone or fax to Syracuse University Health Services. For students admitted after May 15, please submit within five business days following your deposit/confirmation. Do NOT send the Health form to the Summer College Office. In order for Summer College participants to receive assistance through Syracuse University Health Services (SUHS), students must complete the SUHS Form below. Failure to complete and send in a health form will prevent you from being seen or treated at the SU Health Center.

Pay Remaining Balance
Pay your remaining program balance on the payment portal by your specific due date below. For more information on payments, view our Payment Information page.

Visit Your MySlice, Blackboard, and Syracuse Email Accounts
MySlice: Sign up for Orange Alert, the University’s crisis notification system on MySlice at myslice.syr.edu. Be sure to “View Your Class Schedule” before you arrive on campus! Your schedules will be in MySlice roughly two weeks before your program begins. Please check MySlice and your class schedule often to ensure that the room assignment does not change! Through MySlice, you will also be able to “Request a Transcript,” and “View My Grades.”
Blackboard: Some programs will utilize Blackboard. To ensure that you are familiarized, go to blackboard.syr.edu and check it out! You will log in using your netID and password. Please note that if your course is on Blackboard, it will be available roughly one week before the program begins.
SUmail: Your Syracuse University SUmail account is the primary way that your instructors and professors will be in contact with you. Using your netID@syr.edu and your password that you created, log into your email account and check it often! Visit sumail.syr.edu for more information and to log in.

Review Welcome Weekend and Move-In Information
We cannot wait to welcome you to campus! To have the smoothest transition to college life, Syracuse University Summer College hosts a Welcome Weekend for all income pre-college students complete with orientations.
Due May 15: Submit Your Roommate Request
Do you have a friend attending Summer College and want to be roomies? Students may request a roommate by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the student they would like to be roomed with along with their program name. The subject line should read “Roommate Request.” Roommate requests will be considered if both parties separately request each other as their roommate.

Review Move-Out Information
Even though we are sad to see you leave, there are specific moving out guidelines. Please review all move-out information to learn what to expect on your last day at Summer College.
Complete the Arrival and Departure Forms
ALL residential students must fill out the Arrival Form and Departure Form prior to arrival on campus, regardless of if they need shuttle service. Both forms must be submitted electronically no later than June 9, 2019. A complimentary shuttle service is available for students. For more information on transportation, please view the Transportation to Syracuse page. Before you complete these forms, please have your forms of transportation booked/purchased.
Place Your MicroFridge Rental (optional)
This all-in-one refrigerator, freezer, and microwave is approved by Syracuse University for use in residence halls and will help make your room feel a little more like home! When filling out the form, choose Haven Hall as your residence hall (400 Comstock Ave., Syracuse NY 13244). Students will be residing in either Haven Hall or Kimmel Hall. Resident hall assignments will be available when Move-In Passes are emailed to students shortly prior to the date their program begins. If you order a Microfridge, it will be delivered to your room prior to your arrival on campus.
Complete the Night Away Request Form
All residential students who plan on spending a night or weekend away from their residence hall must fill out the Night Away Request Form three to five days before you leave campus.

Print Your Move-In Pass (Required if you are driving directly to campus!)
Are you being driven directly to campus? Summer College Staff and Resident Advisors will be at the residence hall to greet you. Students will be emailed a map of campus, directions to the residence hall, any road closures, and a Move-In Pass (residential students only) approximately 2-3 weeks prior to the move-in date. Please review the Orientation Schedule (available Spring 2019) for your particular program’s move-in date for information on when to arrive to campus.

If you received immigration documents (F or J visas) from our office…
Upon arrival to campus, bring all your immigration documents (Passport, Visa, I-20 or DS-2019, and I-94) to the Slutzker Center for International Services at 310 Walnut Place. You should complete this task on the Monday after you arrive.
