GET INSIDE!
The interior and enviromental design program emphasizes a three-dimensional approach to creating humane, enabling, and ecologically sensitive interior environments for living, working,
and recreation. The program is singled out for its emphasis on concept generation and creative problem solving.
Summer College students in the interior and environmental design program will have the opportunity to learn interior design graphics, model building, design process, team work, design vocabulary and philosophy from professional faculty and guest critics. Hands-on studio based projects will involve space, furniture and lighting, and will explore enviornmental and social issues of design.
A state of the art design studio, model shop and cad cluster will enhance the learning process, along with professional juries and seminars. Drawing, drafting, cad drawing, anthropometrics, color theory, problem solving and presentation will be covered in the program. Exercises will culminate in the design of a personal space for the student and will be displayed in an exhibition at the end of the program.
