acting and musical theater

The Summer College Acting & Musical Theater program was created for talented students who have been inspired by the energy and sophistication of theatre and musical theatre.

Stage production
The program develops the abilities of experienced performers who are serious about the field and eager to work hard.

Our goal is to help you grow creatively through full-time, college-level theater training under the direction of acclaimed professional performers and teachers.

The six-week program develops your performance skills and provides a behind-the-scenes view of theatre that combines music, drama, and dance. You register for two three-credit courses, Drama (DRA) 100 Elements of Performance, and DRA 200 Basic Acting.

Classes aim to improve command of your body, mind, and voice, so that combined they become the expressive instrument of an actor.

A final exhibition of students’ work is held at Syracuse Stage. Students from all programs, family, friends and the University community will be able to see the segments of the Grand Finale produced by Summer College students.
