COURSE DESCRIPTION
WRT 104, Introduction to College Level Writing
Writing 104 is an introduction to the kinds of writing that students will be expected to engage in at the university, in writing courses as well as any course that requires written work. Broadly stated, the goals for the course are to become better writers and more skilled readers and thinkers, to try new ways of writing and begin to develop specific strategies to understand complex texts, and to see the relationship between reading and writing. There will be a strong emphasis on developing new and more advanced reading strategies, as well as on articulating new ideas and making interpretive claims.
