Syracuse University Summer College, in partnership with The Power of International Education (IIE) and the U.S. Department of State’s EducationUSA network, is pleased to offer multiple 2-week program options, allowing each student to tailor a 2 or 4-week experience to match their interests. EducationUSA Academy at Syracuse University offers the ultimate American college experience for international high school students. Students can immerse themselves in the English language and culture while living on the campus of Syracuse University, one of the top 100 universities in the U.S.
Academy participants live in a residence hall with roommates and floor mates from across the United States (typically from more than 30 U.S. states) and the world (approximately 25 countries). In addition to daily programming coordinated through our Office of Residence Life (and alongside high school students enrolled in other Summer College programs), students have the opportunity to explore local cultural institutions, art and science museums, and state parks; participate in service activities and local cultural events; and travel to tourist destinations such as an amusement park and Niagara Falls.
Summer is a great time for international high school students to come to Syracuse University. The weather is warm, the flowers are in bloom, and the sun is (mostly!) shining. Established in 1870 in central New York State, the historic campus is a 15-minute drive to the Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). SYR is less than an hour plane ride from JFK airport in New York City, two hours from Chicago (ORF), and four and a half hours from Miami (MIA).
My dream was to go to the USA and also to become an aerospace engineer. By going to the [Academy] I got to do both. ~ Syracuse Summer College EducationUSA student, 2018
